Classic Car Festival
The Fourth Annual, Lake Dora Classic is back. This year we move our Show to Wooton Park, in Tavares, “America’s Seaplane City”. Our Show will again feature exotics, muscle, classics and antique vehicles, displayed in a casual setting by Lake Dora, and right adjacent to the Seaplane Base, and all your favorite restaurants. Plus, as a bonus, this year we will be on display in conjunction with the Classic Raceboat Association, all in Wooton Park. Wooton Park is just off Main Street.
We will begin our Show at 8 a.m., when Registered vehicles will be escorted to their assigned parking space. Once parked, the owners can pick up their Registration Packets and Goody Bags, and enjoy the rest of the day. All cars must be in place by 10 a.m. This year, besides enjoying all the cars, take a Seaplane ride, view the Classic Raceboats (admission fee for some exhibits), take a Lake Dora Sightseeing cruise or visit many of the popular restaurants, all within mere steps.
Our Judging will be by People’s Choice Ballot. Our classes will be assigned by the number of cars in the same or similar category. In addition, we will also have Senior Awards, selected by our Show Committee, to include: Long Distance, Mayors Choice, Oldest Vehicle, and Best of Show. Once again, any Car Club with at least six cars for one marque, will have first and second place awards provided by the Show, specific to your brand.
And again, this year, on Sunday, March 17, we will have a Back Roads Tour To Nowhere, ending with a luncheon. Hosted by Jack and Cyndi Voller, Tour leaves from Tavares at 10 a.m. and is open to all registered Show cars for $20 per person, lunch included, or those not registered for Saturday, are required to pay a reduced registration fee of $5 per vehicle and $20 per person for lunch. There will be ribbons given for all cars finishing.
